Roma is an inspirational talented 16 year old singer songwriter, dancer and actor who has performed in west end shows, pantomime with celebrities and danceshows and has been a finalist in various talent shows.
In 2016 Roma’s mother volunteered at the Ipswich winter night shelter. Inspired by her mother’s work at the shelter for the homeless, Roma started songwriting in January 2017 and the single “Father” was created with the aim of releasing it on a charity EP in order to raise money for the charity Selig Suffolk who run the Ipswich winter night shelter for the homeless. The charity EP “Welcome to the Waterfront” was released in June 2017 and Roma smashed her target of £2000 and proudly handed over a cheque to the charity for over £4500 by December 2017.
Beginning of 2018 Roma travelled to the NEC Birmingham to compete in the UK final of open mic songwriters competition. The same prestigious competition that launched the career of Birdy…skinny love who won the competition in 2008 aged 12. Roma was the youngest finalist. There were only 6 finalists, a huge achievement to reach the final from 10000 entries and several heats. Whilst sadly she didn’t win, her feedback to her song Father has boosted views on YouTube and the music video has had over 26000 views online.
In 2018 Roma continued fundraising and handed over cheques to 3 local charities….4YP suffolk young peoples health project, EACH children’s hospice and Ipswich winter night shelter for the homeless. Each charity received £2220. 2018 saw Roma perform on the Ed Sheeran Stage backed with her band at the popular Ipswich music day with huge crowds in attendance. She also performed for the second time at Felixstowe Carnival.
Roma was honoured to kick off the Ipswich Christmas lights switch on at the newly revamped Cornhill in Ipswich in November 2018 to a fabulous crowd and alongside stars from panto and town 102 radio.
Her debut charity album titled Teen Spirit was launched at the Railway Pub in Ipswich in October 2018. In just 3 hours Roma had raised £997 in an unforgettable afternoon of music with local artists.
In total since June 2017, Roma has raised over £14,000 for local charities through performances, donations, album and CD sales and merchandise.
